Well-Rounded: The Loop Livens Up Shuangjing
As you settle into one of The Loop’s leather chairs, the first thing that’s striking is the number of bases the venue covers. Most bars in Shuangjing have presented themselves as somewhere between drinking den and dining spot – while ticking both those boxes, The Loop is equipped for dancing, DJs, live music and regular film screenings. There’s also a dart board and what is surely the narrowest pool table in town.
The owners are taking things slowly with their plans for parties and music events, but with a great daily happy hour (from 9pm-midnight, drinks are buy-one-get-one-free), there’s every reason to pop in if you live nearby.
The lack of draft beer is a weakness, though many beer drinkers will settle for Tsingtao at RMB 15. The cocktail list includes several martinis and sours, while the far-reaching food menu includes Thai curries, pizzas and brunch sets available from 11am-5pm daily.
The Loop’s bow is not yet fully strung, but it hits the target with its current offerings.
