Hoodwinked: Robert Hood at Link Star
The sounds of Detroit will rock Beijing tomorrow (Friday, May 13) at Link Star as techno star Robert Hood returns to Beijing. A founding member of the grunge Detroit techno “Underground Resistance” music collective and one of the godfathers of the minimal techno movement, Hood played Lantern last year.
Fans of Hood will recognize his signature minimalist style, infsed with the sounds of soul, acid and industrial dance music. Hood is looking forward to bringing his “Omega Alive” tour to China, saying, “When I first came to China, I remember expecting everybody to not really understand my sound, so I had the feeling I had to introduce people to some of my Detroit background and my influences with techno, house and minimal, gradually over some time.” Now, with his third visit, let the Hood education continue …
