Missed Connection? Reader Seeks To Repay Good Samaritan
You'd be surprised by the letters that fill up our inboxes here at the Beijinger offices. They range from the sublime to the ridiculous and every possible scam in between. Sometimes we don't even know if they are real but on the off-chance that this particular one is, we thought we'd share it with you. We've printed it as it came to us so you can get a sense of the urgency contained within:
"i just met someone at the bcia last week. she's american, she's been at beijing for like 18years. she used to teach english at the university, but now she's doing some recording, and editing paper. she's crippled she's walking with a stick, short blonde hair, probably in her mid 30. do you know her?? i missed my flight last week and she lent me money but i forgot to ask her name or her number or email.. so if you know who she is please tell me.. thanks before.."
So there you are, dear reader. Can you help your fellow Beijinger get in touch with this remarkable woman? If you can genuinely come to this reader's assistance then email editor@thebeijinger.com. If you have anything else to say on the matter then please leave a comment below. Remember that all Reader Letters published in the Beijinger earn the writer a bottle of KISS vodka. Put your finger(s) to your keypad and email us your thoughts on anything to do with life in Beijing.
"Thanks before," as they say.

Walls, that is a fair point you make - not everyone is a drinker. Our Reader Letters prize is currently sponsored by the folks at KISS vodka so that's the default prize but if the writer of a published letter was to point out that they are teetotal - which has happened before - we'd be happy to replace that prize with something more suitable.

A bottle of alcohol? Seems a coupon for a meal at a nice restaurant would be a more suitable gift. Not everyone is a drinker.
