Vintage Dream Come True: Dragon House

If you have a soft spot for vintage in your fashion heart, Fangjia Hutong’s newest shop will be sure to lure you off the main roads. Right off Andingmennei Dajie, Dragon House sells everything from faux fur coats to classy flapper dresses. This is not a store for guys or girls who only wear trousers – you’ll be hard-pressed to spot a single pair here. Instead, you'll find every species of dress and skirt you’ve ever dreamed of.

Shirts printed with Hermès-style designs hang in neat rows next to frilly lace shirts. Generally, this store is a lot neater than most vintage stores I’ve been to, which on the one hand will make it easier to find things, but on the other makes the hunt for the gem a lot less exciting. The small space fits an impressive range of clothing, but somewhat neglects shoes and accessories in its enthusiasm for dresses, blouses and felted suit jackets. Prices range from RMB 100-400.
