Burger Cup 2012: Now Including Hot Dogs?

This year's Burger Cup is heating up like a kitchen in the summer without air-con, but before we get to the hot topics of this first round proper, we're going to play it cool with our hottest dog. After Datou's first video was released to a rapturous public, he has achieved international fame. (OK, both "international" and "rapturous" may only refer to our mums back home.) If you haven't already witnessed Datou's miraculous feats, you can see the video for yourself below.

Datou has been making his predictions for the round of 32, and we'll be bringing those to you soon. Aside from watching the canine's conundrum, you can cast your vote and get your downloadable bracket. We've also got news on which races are tighter than Wimpy's waistband. Read on to find out which ones ...

Without any further ado, here is Datou making his selections. Please remember that this is not a science; all opinions expressed are the dog's own and may not reflect the those of the readers or editors of the Beijinger.

And so to the tight races:

• Plan B (seeded #30) is going neck and neck with the giants at Let's Burger (#2). Do we smell an upset or is that just flame-grilled meat?
• Peter and Grandma are in the most unlikely-sounding of fights. Peter's got Grandma's bun in a twist right now but Grandma's coming out swinging.
• Lily's American Diner is reppin' lil' ol' Shuangjing to the fullest against the mighty Maison Boulud. Between them and Plan B, the people of Shuangjing sure loves theyselves some burger.
• Vineyard Cafe is also showing local heart in their fight against The Man. So close are they to TGI Friday's right now, they could be called TGI Almost Midnight on Thursday's.
