We want someone that’s got their fingers dirty in the gritty metropolis of Beijing. Someone who knows the name of the fruit and veg stall holders in their local market and who can name their favorite German, Tex-Mex and Xinjiang restaurants at the drop of a hat. Someone who’s the go-to person for friends and colleagues on how to get things done here. Someone who’d dealt with rapscallion landlords but enjoyed the amazing courtesy of their neighbors. Someone that’s lived the local life. Someone knows and loves Beijing, warts and all.

We’re looking for a native English speaker, preferably with some Chinese fluency, with a desire to write. You don’t have to have had a professional writing job before, but you should have some previous - whether blogging or stuff you’ve got lying in a drawer at home.
