Community Matters: Literary Residency Plus Craft Beer and Beekeeping
There’s plenty of beer and honey coming our way this week, but first a quick reminder that deadline for the 2014-2015 M Literary Residency is approaching.
For those who have a cross-cultural writing/research project they are dying to get off the ground or complete, fill in your applications, send them in to the program before June 28 and your wish may come true. Writers and non-writers are all welcome to apply for the 10-12 week residency in Shanghai or India plus stipends. One note: the organizers have made it clear that the residency is location specific – not a base for travel writers, so make sure those locations work for your project. View the program guidelines and application form available online to send in your great ideas. Good luck.
Now, here are those sweet community events:
- Beijing Craft Beer Festival celebrates local brews and food from all over the city.
- The Schoolhouse organizes a tour to a local beekeeper's house.
- Beijing Music Day joins cities around the world with a huge variety of live performances in different neighborhoods.
- Finally, don’t miss this great Photo Scavenger Hunt on Saturday. We’ve got the rules mapped out for you here.
