Among all the excitement of the announcement that The Killers would be coming to town in October, we forgot to mention that Suede will be making a welcome return in October, too. Following the release of their sixth studio album, Bloodsports – their first in 11 years, Brett Andersen and co. will play Workers' Gymnasium on Oct 5. Tickets are on sale now.
And it seems like the trickle of big-name international acts won't be stopping there. There was some interesting news regarding one of the world's largest concert promoters and its activities in China recently. Live Nation announced the creation of a new role and appointed a new "Managing Director of Live Nation China Concerts" in a move aimed at bringing "more international acts to the Chinese market."
How you set for Swedish death metal? Gothenburg rockers At The Gates play tonight (Aug 1) at Yugong Yishan before heading off to Shanghai. Elsewhere a group of Nanjing expats, named Bad Band, are in town tonight, too. Taking their show on the road, they'll be at MAO Livehouse at 8.30pm.
US pop punk veterans Zebrahead have cancelled their Friday (Aug 2) show at Yugong Yishan citing illness in the group. Yugong Yishan management say all tickets will be refunded by Taobao, but the show will go on with Japanese outfit Secret 7 Line carrying the torch.
