Open Sesame Again: Gung Ho Pizza to Re-Open Wangjing Store
No sooner had it opened then it closed, and no sooner had it closed, it is reopening.
Gung Ho Pizza opened its third store, in Wangjing, on September 4, at the time offering a buy-one, get-one-free deal on pizzas for the first two weeks. Then, in early November, with far less fanfare, the store closed.
"Thanks for your interest. We are currently in negotiation with our landlord to re-open our Wangjing store at a future date. We hope to have confirmation on this in the coming weeks. In the meantime we are serving the WJ area from our nearby Lido location and have just added several highspeed electric bikes to cover the area in a faster time. Will keep all posted once we have more news," said Gung Ho Ventures co-founder Jade Gray at the time.
Man of his word, Gray called the Beijinger Wednesday afternoon to let us know those negotiations have come to fruition and the Wangjing store will re-open on Tuesday, December 10. It's the same location as before, at Kirin Place, Wangjing Street, northwest of Wangjing SOHO. The landlord decided to get on board, Gray said, and even though the store had a bit of a "tough" time in that location, he meant it when he stated the company planned to re-open there and that the closure was only temporary.
