The Grass is Actually Greener: DoubleTree by Hilton’s Outdoor Barbecue Party

Our fair city is not exactly known for its verdant green spaces, so the discovery of an oasis in the heart of the city is something to make the most of. Those looking for an alternative to the standard all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch options, particularly one with an alfresco twist, would do well to venture to Xicheng to visit the DoubleTree.

The hotel has recently opened its rooftop garden for another year of barbecue parties. RMB 228 per person (inclusive of 15 percent service charge) gets you access to the garden, the adjacent indoor pool and all the barbecue meats you can fit inside your bathing suit. Of the meats on offer, we particularly enjoyed the sticky barbecue pork ribs, but don't forget to leave room for dessert with a wide selection of ice cream and fruit. If you feel like making it a boozy afternoon, you have the option to add RMB 128 for free-flow of wine, beer and two types of cocktails.

The Live and Artistic Outdoor Barbecue Pool Party is held every Sunday from noon-4pm (Beijing’s erratic weather permitting) until September 21. To secure your place, please contact 6338 1999 ext 1628.
