What's Hot: Fire Dancers, Foosball, and More World Cup Updates
The World Cup may be on your radar, but here's our recap of news and what's not to be missed in nightlife this week.
- Want to know where to watch the 2014 World Cup this week? Check out our updated list of bars and deals around town. And here's a handy house watching party plan if you want to avoid going out (the number of drunk driving incidents have spiked this month).
- At Cu Ju to catch a game or two this week? Don't miss their rum soaked brownie, reviewed last month in Just Desserts.
- If you happen to be in Sanlitun Hou Jie to watch the games, duck past all the greasy malatang stands and cig carts to get to Maltail, a new cocktail bar across from First Floor. It's weirdly classier than just about everywhere else in the area, but it might be just what you need. Read more about it here.
- Harness those foosball skills and get in on a preliminary round of the 2014 Heineken Foosball Competition at The Bar at Migas tonight, starting at 8pm. More info about prizes here.
- Later tonight at The Bar at Migas, catch the legendary DJ Derrick Carter.
- Dave Bob Gaspar, who won Personality of the Year at our 2014 Reader Bar and Club Awards, is leaving The Brick at the end of this month to take on a new opportunity as front of house manager at Home Plate Bar-B-Que Sanlitun. Before that though, he's hosting fire dancers tonight to help debut his new summer cocktail list. Meanwhile, Home Plate personality Seth Grossman is heading back to New York next month.
