Last Call to Make Sure Your Children Aren't Bitterly Disappointed This Halloween in Beijing

We've already got you adults sorted for Halloween with our ever-growing list of all the Halloween parties in Beijing for 2014 (53 at last count). We've told you where to get costumes, online and off. But what about the kiddies for you parents out there? Aren't you forgetting something?

Well, for those in a family way, our sister mag beijingkids is hosting what is already to be their biggest Halloween party ever – and the Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon sessions are flat out booked solid (and no amount of guanxi, cajoling or bribery is getting you and the little ones in the door). But the good news is, due to unprecedented demand, we've added a third Sunday morning session which still has some seats left.

Sunday morning, you say? Good god, Get up at the crack of dawn to feed the kids candy for breakfast? Yes! It's Halloween for god's sake, and you know the little ones are going to be out of bed at 6am anyhow bugging you to get up and take them out for some fun.

And if they find out you've decided not to get them tickets and instead planned to have them help out around the house come Sunday morning, you're either in for the temper tantrum of the century or a tiny little crushed spirit, solemnly sweeping the floor as silent tears run down her cheeks.

This'll be beijingkids eighth annual session of their ghoul get-together, so they've gotten it down to a science. The new session will be held on the morning of October 26 from 8.30-11am at CISB in Liangmaqiao.

Activities will remain the same, with options for both younger kids and older kids:

  • Haunted schoolhouse tour
  • On-site trick-or-treating
  • Family portrait
  • Face painting
  • Pumpkin baskets for kids
  • Lots of candy, lollipops, and chocolates for everyone
  • On-stage costume parade with prizes for kids
  • Loads of Halloween-themed games for kids
  • Free finger foods from selected vendors

However, there will be no early bird discounts available for this session. Regular prices apply:

  • beijingkids Club members: RMB 100 per adults, RMB 200 per child (all ages)
  • Non-members: RMB 200 per adults RMB 300 per child (all ages)

To book your tickets or join the club to realize the discount, email events@beijing-kids.com or call 5941 5499. By Friday it will be too late, and please, for crowd control sake, do not show up at the door without a ticket.

And if you honestly are such a bad parent that you're not willing to get out of bed on a Sunday morning to realize your little one's dreams, then there are other Halloween options for families around town – stay tuned to the beijingkids blog. They've got a first batch of events listed here.
