JUE Teams up with 京A for Limited Edition Bingtanghulu Amber Ale
After the success of the sweet potato-infused Shua Ye beer created by 京A for 2014's JUE Festival, the two creative forces are back again with another special brew created and only available during this year's run of the event (Mar 12-22). Continuing the tradition of using Beijing street snacks as inspiration, 2015 sees the introduction of the Bingtang Hulu Amber Ale. Like the ubiquitous candied fruit, this brew combines the sweetness of cane sugar with the tart kick of hawthorns.
I tried the brew during a menu tasting at 京A the other day, and with the sweetness of the tanghulu prevailing over the fruit's distinct tartness, it will make for an excellent chilled outdoor pint when the weather turns warmer over the next couple of weekends.
The brew will be available at the following locations/events:
京A Taproom: 京A will be selling the JUE x Bing Tanghulu Amber Ale at their taproom throughout JUE Music + Art Festival (Mar 12 – 22)
JUE Creative Market: The JUE Creative Market will be held on March 15, 11am-6pm, bringing together the best and kookiest of Beijing's artisans and speciality producers at LANNG Art Center.
LOOP x JUE closing party Bus Show: To close out festival on March 22, LOOP and JUE join forces on Line 3 BRT (sets off from Andingmen) for a bus ride to remember featuring local musicians like Alpine Decline, Charm, Zhang Shouwang, DJ Cousin Kippy, and Compact Dicks (2-8pm).
Check out the full JUE program on their website.
