What and Where to Eat During the National Day Holiday: Modernista, Jing-A, Farm to Neighbors, and More
All your friends jetting off to greener pastures for the upcoming holiday? Perhaps everyone's already started leaving and you've been left to slowly watch your office and favorite hangouts empty out. Looks like there's only one thing for it: time to eat your feelings. Luckily, Beijing's restaurants and bars are happy to oblige with a host of dining deals and events.
Wed, Sep 30: Wednesday Pizza Party at Ramo
Ain't no party like a pizza party. Kick off the holiday with buy-one-get-one pizzas at our favorite hutong pizza bar, Ramo.
Thu-Fri, Oct 1-2: Farm to Neighbors Farmers Market at 751 D Park
Take advantage of all that free time and get in the kitchen. Of course, you'll want to stock up on some produce first, so make your way over to this special edition of Farm to Neighbors, in association with Beijing Design Week. Entry is RMB 30, including a RMB 15 cash coupon. Expect loads of local foods and crafts, upholding the theme of 'think local share local.' Produce comes from both small farms and stores from around Beijing, and neighboring provinces for good variety.
Oct 1-7: Holiday brunch at Modernista
With a newly renovated space and expanded kitchen, Modernista will be open for brunch every day from noon-4pm during the holiday. They will be serving brunch sets priced at RMB 60-75, featuring everything from smoked salmon blinis to leek and cheese quiche.
Oct 1-7: Dine at China World Summit Wing
The more you spend at China World Summit Wing's five F&B outlets this holiday, the more you save. Get 10 percent off your first visit, up to a total of 70 percent. We suggest making the most of the holiday's inevitably clear skies and grabbing a drink at 80th floor cocktail bar, Atmosphere.
Sat, Oct 3: Mexican Oktobefest at Jing-A Brewing
Join Jing-A as they launch their newest brew, an Imperial Hefeweizen known as El Hefe (8% abv). If you buy two pints or a liter stein of El Hefe you'll earn a reward - a plate of "Nachos con Chili con Carne con Queso" (fried tortilla chips topped with cheese and our five pepper beef chili).
Mon, Oct 5: Half-price tronchetto and Chianti at Bottega
Bottega's cheesy pizza rolls (formally known as tronchetto) are the definition of early autumn food - comforting, filly, carby. And with no work the next day, there's no excuse not to have an extra half-price glass of Chianti...
