Celebrate Mardi Gras this Week with Caravan, Nola and Great Leap

Besides Beijing’s love for spicy crawfish, there isn’t much that connects us to the gluttony and delinquencies that abound in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Nothing can compare to the public indecency that this festival promotes, after all it’s amazing what people will do for a string of plastic (Made in China). Regardless, this doesn’t mean we can’t channel some of the more wholesome aspects (primarily eating and drinking) of this raging Cajun festival of cheer with a couple of restaurants helping to keep the party alive during this Mardi Gras season.

Feb 9: Cajun Tuesday: Half-off Cajun Dishes
Caravan is having their Fat Tuesday celebrations next Tuesday (Feb 9) with some delicious New Orleans delicacies at half-price, including vegan jambalaya, chicken po’boy, and his special Ninth Ward etoufee. Don’t forget there are also generous drink specials on Sazeracs and hurricanes to put you into the spirit of this decadent holiday. While you can find these Cajun foods on discount every Tuesday, this edition will also feature live music and DJs and other Mardi Gras essentials to put you in the mood.

Feb 5: Mardi Gras with Nola and Great Leap
This Friday, Nola will present a buffet dinner featuring New Orleans classics including a shrimp boil, jambalaya, andouille sausage, fried chicken, and one of those legendary king cakes to keep with Mardi Gras tradition. For RMB 250, you receive this fine spread along with four Great Leap beers. There will also be a trivia contest to crown Nola’s Zulu coconut and plenty of beads to help you start acting inappropriately in no time. Keep in mind there are some things you should never do in a restaurant, even if it is Mardi Gras. For reservations, call Nola at 8563 6215.
