Kipp's Picks: Marco Shuttle, Kung Fu at Migas, Kode9, and Neon Zoo

This weekend has wild and style, with stellar parties across the board and DJs from Beijing and beyond ready to turn you out, on multiple dance floors throughout the city.

Mar 4: Space/Play Committee presents Marco Shuttle
This Friday make sure to experience the left-field techno skills of Marco Shuttle. Lift off into space as he lays down some intense gravity-defying tunes, making use of the esoteric music stylings of jazz and musique concrete and fusing them together with the cold mechanical tendencies of Detroit techno – a combo that will transport you to some lush, alien landscapes or just help you partake in some primal fun on the dance floor. He'll be supported by the mad virtuosity of locals like Stanly, Boflex, and Zhiqi. RMB 60. 10pm. Dada

Mar 4: Kung Fu: Streetfighter Edition
Kung Fu pits three of Beijing’s best funk and disco DJs (Demone, Watermelon, and Bite-Size Buddha) against some proper house heads (Special K and special guest Ben Huang), setting the scene for an intense musical showdown at Migas. No matter what happens, the dance floor will surely win as both sides fire off bumping heat with reckless abandon, so come on up and get your Kung Fu on. RMB 30. 10pm. The Bar at Migas

Mar 5: Antidote Presents: Kode9
The alchemist of sound and distinguished gentleman behind the decks, Kode9 returns to Beijing to lay down some serious grime, drum 'n' bass, and dubstep this Saturday night. It promises to be bowel-shaking in the best way possible so make sure to wear your pampers, because we all know it takes a little poo to make gold. That’s just how alchemy works. Currently he’s touring on his brand new album entitled Nothing, which is totally something. RMB 80. 10pm. Dada

Mar 5: Neon Zoo
Dayglow your brains as the originators of Beijing's neon parties return for another night of banging EDM fun. Neon Zoo, as always, will be loud and out of control, featuring the musical vibes of DJs Danny Flora, Dio, Ou Yang, and El-mar till the crack of dawn. There will also be body painters on the premises, who are ready and able to make all of your fluorescent fantasies come alive. RMB 30. 10pm. Lantern.
