Modernista Introduces New Regular Boogie Nights, Starts Mar 11
From the party people that brought you Dome and Club Paradise throughout many of Beijing’s locations, comes another night to add to your already full weekend: Boogie Nights.
The creators say:
“The slightly more hyperactive younger sibling of the two, Boogie Nights hopes to encapsulate the fun-loving, free nature of a house party – without the space issues.
Expect the unexpected in the form of tunes you've more than likely definitely heard before, but can't quite remember if it's been 10 or 15 years since the last time you heard them. Expect the expected in the form of the day after the night before not being quite as productive as you planned. Accept the fact that you may find some of the music ... questionable, yet expect to be accepted for dancing along regardless of whether or not your street-cred holds up”
The night is brought to you by DJs Bass Ventura, William Scratchner, 家 Rule, Gary Boozy, and Baume Du Tigre. When asked which tunes they will be rolling out, Bass Ventura, Daniel Rothwell, responds with Will Smith’s Miami. “It was the first cassette single I ever bought, and to this day remains an absolute hit. It’s a timeless classic and a guaranteed party starter. In fact, it’s probably the greatest musical accomplishment of the last 100 years.”
What you definitely won’t be hearing is LMFAO who seem to have been completely written off by this crew. And fair do’s.
Other favorites include Mariah Carey’s Shake It Off, which is high up on David Fertitta’s, list along with Ja Rule by Mesmerize featuring Ashanti, and William Scratchner, or Chris Roberson’s favorites, Fergie, because “Fergie keeps it real, but others since are just posing. No one can say that something is lmfaolicious …”
