Tribe Lido Launches New Summer Lunch Dishes, Adds Delicious Grilled Prawns, and Harissa Chicken Grain Bowl
Our favorite green Lido hangout, Tribe Lido, has revamped their lunch menu, bringing exciting new options to the table that still adhere to their values of creating healthy eating through organic ingredients.
We started our meal with 'The Great Gazpacho' (RMB 35), a mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, capsicum, olive oil, and watermelon. The gazpacho was extremely fresh, and made for the perfect summer starter, none of the flavor lost in the cool, blended soup.
Two of their new lunch mains were the 'Right On Grilled Prawns with Thyme and Mushroom Pearl Barley Rice' (RMB 128, pictured at top), and the 'Hello, You Harissa Chicken' (RMB 78). The prawns in the former dish were delightfully huge and well seasoned, accompanied by a salad of barley and mushrooms, as well as a mixture of grilled vegetables. The chicken bowl was delicious, a slightly spicy mix of chicken, olives, tomato, watercress, and pickled lemon, served alongside red rice. Both meals were filling without being so dense as to drag you down for the rest of your work day.
And make no mistake, just because a meal is healthy doesn't mean that there can't be any dessert! We especially loved this 'Rumble in the Apple Crumble with Coconut Ice Cream' (RMB 36), a mixture of apple, wheat flour, egg, coconut oil, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder, heated up and stirred together. The warm apples melt in your mouth, and chunks of strawberry mean the dessert is fruity without being overly sweet.
An alternative is the lemon tart, named 'Laidback Lemon Tart with Almond Crust and Coconut Cream' (RMB 48), a healthy alternative to your usual lemon tart, but still creamy nontheless.
Both new dessert options made it easy to round off the meal without feeling guilty or heading straight onto a sugar-laden rollercoaster ride, something we don't often find in Beijing but have come to expect and welcome from health-conscious Tribe.
