Pizza My Mind: Bar 4 Nine Co-Owner Britt Langford Reveals Her Go-To Pizza Spots

In the run-up to the 2016 Pizza Cup (mark your calendars for the launch party on Oct 15-16 at Wangjing Soho), we've asked Beijingers to tell us about their favorite pizza places as part of our Pizza my Mind series. In this blog, we talk to American bar owner Britt Langford, previously the owner of Sweet Tart, 27, who lives near Andingmen and runs the new Bar 4 Nine.

Avid pizza eater and small business owner, originally from Portland, says that pizza is her go-to comfort food. When we asked her where she would go for pizza in the following situations, these were her responses:

A date with a significant other: Xian Bar
"I love ordering the thin-crust truffle mushroom pizza from East Hotel's Xian Bar. Xian bar has a high level of service and a great bar atmosphere. Also there is often live music, and a Jing-A beer garden [in the summer]. Great pizza, cocktails, and beer, how can you go wrong?"

For the end of the month when you are worried about the budget: Ramo
"If I am on a budget, I usually get a few slices from Ramo. Ramo has such a cool, hip atmosphere and is also located in Andingmen so it's very close to home. Also they offer slices which is really convenient when you don't want to eat a whole pizza."

When you are introducing friends who have never had pizza before: Gung Ho
"Gung Ho is a solid choice when introducing friends to pizza, they have a number of options and also serve seafood pizza, which seems to always go over well with my Chinese friends. My favorite pizza from Gung Ho is the roasted vegetable pizza with pesto and a thin crust. I have never had a bad pizza experience at Gung Ho, they are incredibly consistent and the pizza is authentic and delicious."
