Beijing's Best Delivery Services, Pt. 2: Groceries and Alcohol

What a world you live in, 2016 Beijing resident. Within a few swipes and taps on your phone you can have all manner of gastronomic delights flying to your door, whether you want to actually get in the kitchen or just sit on the couch and shovel food into your face. We have put together an up-to-date list of the best delivery services available in Beijing in 2016, including groceries, restaurants, and alcohol.

Part one looks at supermarkets and services offering grocery delivery, as well as alcohol delivery services so you can get your drank on. 

Grocery Delivery Services

City Shop
City Shop sells a wide range of pricey imported groceries and has stores in Liangmaqiao and Parkview Green. Order fresh produce and sundries via their website. 

Delivery zones: Within the Fifth Ring Road (contact for orders outside the Fifth Ring Road)
Delivery fee (in Beijing): RMB 30 per order, free for orders over RMB 300 within the Third Ring Road, free for orders over RMB 500 within the Fifth Ring Road

Too Too Organic Farm
One of the only delivery services focusing on organic produce, Too Too also sells a range of imported meat, frozen seafood, and daily necessities such as milk and butter. Vegetables are grown on their farm on the outskirts of Beijing.

Delivery zones: Within the Fifth Ring Road, and the Houshayu and Tianzhu areas
Delivery fee (in Beijing): Free for orders over RMB 158, RMB 20 for orders under RMB 158

Tmall
Tmall's "Chaoshi" service (meaning supermarket), is essentially your local branch of Jingkelong transported online. You can get everything from frozen prawns to dragon fruit, as well as non-grocery items like cleaning products. If you're already familiar with using Taobao and Tmall, this would should be a winner.

April Gourmet and Jenny Lou's
Most branches of April Gourmet and Jenny Lou's offer delivery within around 2.5km of the store – good for bulky items like water. Check with your local branch for details.

Alcohol Delivery Services

Shanghai9

Based, unsurprisingly, out of Shanghai, Shanghai9 offers a great selection of imported spirits, wine, and beer, including harder-to-find whiskeys and liqueurs. Note delivery is pretty expensive for Beijing.

A comprehensive wine selection with some beer options available. Their website gives you a rundown on food pairing options, as well as a quirky events pairing option (you might be able to find that magical karaoke wine after all!). They also have a Taobao store.

Delivery fee (in Beijing): Orders above RMB 300 will receive free delivery (bottles within the order that are priced RMB 50 or less will incur an additional RMB 5 delivery fee). Orders RMB 300 and below will incur a RMB 50 charge

An extensive wine catalog from seven nations including New Zealand, France, and Chile. Detailed tasting notes are provided on the website, as well as links directing you to their 40 wine producers.

Jing Dong
Packed to the digital brim with a huge selection of baijiu, wines, beers, and spirits, the front page is forever rotating with special offers. You can even pick up wines from Marks and Spencer.

Delivery fee (in Beijing): Free for orders RMB 59 and above (select items may not apply at certain times to secure this offer). Third-party services selling through Jingdong are subject to separate delivery services and may incur additional fees

Jiu Xian
The website is a bit hectic, but there are good deals to be had on wines and baijiu if you shop around. Emphasis tends to be on French and Australian wines.
