Hotly buzzed underground rapper Deniro Farrar kicks this weekend of clubbing off at one end of the spectrum, with a set that's sure to satisfy hardcore hip-hop fans craving distinctive music. On the other end sits Lantern's Saturday act: DJ Snake, one of the biggest hitmakers of the day thanks to his work with the one and only Justin Bieber. All that, and everything in between, including sets from two highly regarded vets, and a Latin-infused party at Lantern, are all detailed below as we kick off yet another groove-inducing weekend here in the capital.

Kaize
Dada continues its weekly Be Stupid! series with DJ's like Kaize, along with Anton, Shen Yue and Sunmeng. So get ready to kill some brain cells and slay on the dancefloor as these local turntable talents inspire you to booze, bump, and grind the night away. Price TBD. 10pm. Dada

Deniro Farrar
Burgeoning Charlotte rapper Deniro Farrar is described by this Thursday shows promoters as creating music that is "hard socially" with "economically conscious lyrics." More nebulous was popular music blog Pitchfork's praise of him, saying his style is "hard to pin down." Guess you'll have to go and listen to it for yourself. 10pm. RMB 70. Dada
 

Friday, Dec 8

DJ Komka
Let the sultry hot beats of this party transport you to a far-off Latina American haven. Yes, this set is being put on by some of Brazil's top coordinators to promote the balmy locale's best DJing talents, an association between Get Connected and the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing. DJ Komka is the coupling's first attempt and looks to draw a big crowd looking for warmer vibes.  RMB 80, RMB 50 (advance). 10.30pm. Lantern

Feloneezy
Described as a "stalwart of Belgrade dance music scene" thanks to his "drawing influences from all corners of the shop" by the promoters, Feloneezy is set to his the decks with his brawny, rough-hewn approach, which is sure to leave Dada rocking steady well into the wee hours. Disco Extravaganza: The Christmas Drag Ball
Migas is home to a special holiday edition of Disco Extravaganza this weekend “a night of drag to celebrate Christmas the colorful way." DJs Boflex and Gray Boozy will provide the disco soundtrack. 10pm. Price TBA. The Bar at Migas
 

Saturday, Dec 9

DJ Snake
When Justin Bieber taps you to be his collaborator for a track like "Let Me Love You," then you know you're doing something right. And that's not French trap, pop, house, and EDM rising star DJ Snake's only major feat  he's also been nominated for Grammys and Billboard Music Awards for his smash single "Turn Down For What." DJ Tijana T
Described as "Belgrade's foremost techno DJ" Tijana T has played prominent festivals like Dekmantel, Exit Festival, the Resistance stage at Croatia Ultra Music Festival, as well as held strong on Boiler Room. RMB 80, RMB 50 (advance). 11pm. Lantern

Zed Bias
Veteran Beijing crew The Syndicate have invited yet another British star DJ to town to wow Dada attendees: Zed Bias. Having made a name for himself in the '90s during England's garage boom, Zed Bias' is now regarded as a seasoned vet with classic tracks under his belt like "Neighbourhood." The promoters say he's now "enjoying a renaissance with a reemergence of his soulful bass-heavy sounds, culminating with his debut on Exit Records with a three-track release in 2016. This is his second trip to Beijing but his first to the heart of the capital’s underground, Dada. And this time supported by The Syndicate’s own strong crew. Not to be missed." RMB 70. 10pm. Dada

Music by Darcy and Boris Background
For something a little more upscale, new Taikooli-situated Shangai lounge and bar import InfraRouge's Saturday nights are gradually getting into full swing with their resident DJs Darcy and Boris Background on the decks. Go dressed to impress to this one. 10pm. InfraRouge

Machinedrum
The promoters describe Machinedrum as "a pioneer and a popularizer, a restless and relentless seeker, he brings together coasts and continents in projects which are both conceptual and heartfelt, clever and banging." And they aren't exaggerating. After all, Machinedrum has produced and composed more than a dozen albums since 1999, the year that saw his first release. He is an eclectic vet who covers "an astonishing variety of styles with ease, through solo Machinedrum work and with collaborative projects Sepalcure, JETS (with Jimmy Edgar), Dream Continuum, or other mutations, Machinedrum has established himself as electronic music's true Renaissance man."
