Epicurean Greek Food Fest at Kerry's Kitchen, Kerry Hotel, Until Apr 18
We love Greek cuisine, what with its delicious yet simple ingredients like olive oil, cheese, honey, herbs, vegetables, and yoghurt. So we were delighted to hear that Kerry Hotel Beijing is currently hosting an Epicurean buffet dinner until Apr 18, along with their regular offerings at Kerry’s Kitchen’s daily buffet.
The buffet is helmed by guest chef Panagiotis Sotiropoulos, who has more than 10 years of cooking experience and hails from Le Monde Greece. Don’t miss these hightlights: Kagianas (local Greek traditional omelette), bouyiourdi (baked feta with tomatoes), keftedakia (Greek meatballs), tzatziki (yoghurt with garlic) and papoutsakia (stuffed eggplant with minced meat in spicy red sauce and béchamel sauce). We especially enjoyed the moussaka, which was an oven-baked casserole with eggplant and spiced meat topped with béchamel. It was rich and creamy, rekindling memories of my trip to that nation of sea and sunshine a few years back (read more about that here).
Fifteen types of sweets are also on offer, such as gastrin (a time honored rendition of baklava), bougatsa (Greek custard pie with phyllo), loukoumades (Greek donuts) and kourabiedes (Greek butter cookies). Performers will also be on hand to show off Greek folk dances like Kalamatianos, Syrtos and Syrtaki to the tune of musicians playing lutes, violins and other instruments.
The buffet runs until Apr 18, and costs RMB 338 for dinner (5.30-10.30pm) with access to the Adventure Zone play area for one child and one adult. Make a reservation by calling 8565 2088.
