[UPDATE] Sweat, Blood, and Tears for Charity: Tickets for This Year's Brawl on the Wall Now on Sale

[UPDATE May 10, 11.30am] Unfortunately, this year's Brawl on the Wall has been canceled due to a shortage of fighters.

If you weren't brave enough to apply for training for this year's Brawl on the Wall, now's your chance to get involved and root for your favorite contender come the Jun 1 fight at the Grand Hyatt, for what's a showdown without an electric, raucous, and perhaps slightly inebriated crowd to soak up the pain?

The annual event, now in its sixth year and run by White Collar Boxing, involves a night of steamy action as 16 of Beijing's up-and-coming amateur boxers duke it out for glory. The fighters themselves will be in peak physical form following a rigorous 12-week training program in which they've probably cried, sweat, and bled more than they ever have in their entire lives.

Attendees are encouraged to get dressed to the nines so as to be treated to a lavish four-course Western meal spread, free-flow cocktails, wine, and beer fit for the occasion, and a raffle of which 100 percent of proceeds will go Bethel, a charity and orphanage to some 65 of Beijing's visually-impaired children.

Brawl on the Wall takes place on Jun 1, 7pm onwards, at the Grand Hyatt Beijing. Tickets for the event are bought per table of 10 and prices depend on how close to the action you want to be. VIP tables cost RMB 12,000 per table whereas "silver" tables cost RMB 7,000 i.e. RMB 700 per seat – not bad for one of the swankiest evenings of Beijing's sports calendar. To reserve a table, contact Nina at 134 8230 8626 or email at nina@chinasportspromotions.com. For more information, read the event listing here.

Beijing, let's get ready to rumble!
