Leon Fenster's Fantasmagoria Art Exhibit
This artist's portraits of Beijing, Shanghai, and Jerusalem (on displays at an ongoing exhibition at this Dongzhimen gallery, which neighbors Paddy O'Shea's pub) have been described as tapestry-like in their intricacy while also being praised for their bursts of color. The result is dreamlike collages that evoke the spirit of each city and help render the viewer's seemingly mundane memories of those locales into vibrant renditions. Free. Until Oct 15, 9am-9pm. A.C. Brick Live Animal Paradise Exhibition
Put your nostalgia for childhood Lego play to use with this unique exhibit, which uses over two million of those plastic toy bricks flown over from the UK to create an immerse experience for both children and adults that are young at heart. The coordinators say: "Despite what it might look like – i.e. a heavenly utopia for Lego fans – the exhibition also attempts to raise awareness about animal conservation and protection across the world ... combining that age-old Lego enjoyment with a deeper look into the effects humans are having on creatures big and small." Serk Cycling: Tour de Well
Serk Cycling head out this Sunday for a special Mid-Autumn Festival ride to Beijing's outskirts, taking in the changing colors of the trees in the surrounding hills. The ride entails a loop up the Sihai climb before descending on a stretch of rough roads and finally turning towards the Ming Tombs.
