Drumcell
Walking the fine line between rugged analog and cutting-edge digital production, Drumcell's music has a unique appeal that should leave Dada-goers intrigued and eager to dance. Based in Los Angeles, Drumcell is the founder of Droid Recordings and co-founder of Droid Behavior, and describes his style of music-making as making noise sometimes "organized in semi-recognizable patterns." RMB 80. Doors open at 10pm. Dada
Da Tweekaz
Norwegian hardstyle duo Da Tweekaz (pictured in the lead image above) love to get silly to music, their animated stage presence and kooky marketing having endeared them to dancefloor diehards who prefer artists that don't take themselves too seriously. RMB 100. Doors open at 10pm. One Third
Moon & MLRV
Unsatisfied with her behind-the-scenes work as a nightlife promoter, Moscow DJ Moon stepped into the spotlight in the early 2010s and became a hyped talent in her own right. This is by no means her first stop in China, having played a few small steps in Shenzhen, but having dipped her toe into those southern waters she's now ready to rock the capital with her Aurora set. Free. Doors open at 10pm. Aurora
SVBKVLT: SCINTII
SCINTII hits up Zhao Dai this Saturday to release his Aerial/Paperbags EP. A grab bag of other Beijing favorites will be joining him on the night, including Howell Li Chao (of Zaliva D fame), and Simon Frank. Price TBA. 10pm. Zhao Dai
Saturday, Nov 10
Soolee
As one of Kora's hottest deep house and techno artists, Soolee has built up an enthused fan base for his top-shelf productions. Beside his own tracks, he's also a respected curator and tastemaker who plays his favorites on his Less n Less podcast. Check out our recent Q&A with him here. RMB 60. Doors open at 10pm. Dada
Epizode³
This touring festival throughout Asia and Australia makes a stop in Beijing with headliner Eugene Mashkov, a fixture of the Moscow nightlife scene. Lantern regulars like QQ and Weng Weng round out the lineup in the main room, while Eva Xu, Vivian Shen, and other favorites for the Gongti club make up the Redroom roster. RMB 80, RMB 50 (advance). Doors open at 10.30pm. Lantern
Stop Light Singles Party
Aurora holds its third stop light party this weekend, indicating singles are quite eager to mingle at the club. Don't know the premise? It's simple: Attendees are asked to color coordinate their outfits based on their relationship status (red = pump your breaks, yellow = proceed with caution, green = put your pedal to the metal). Shots will be doled out generously throughout the night to keep traffic flowing, meanwhile, the soundtrack will be provided by Aurora's DJs Pancake Lee, Mario Yu, Chozie, Chong, and Review. Free. 10pm. Aurora
Spacetravel
Berlin-based DJ Spacetravel is, in the words of Resident Advisor, "Just as revered a DJ as he is a producer" with an "intricate DJ style that has led him to some of the world's foremost nightspots." Local DJs Kenkeni and Tanner will round-off the roster for back-to-back sets. Price TBA. 10pm. Zhao Dai
