Beijing Parents Speculate on School Reopening Date
The "hive mind" predicts that school will begin on Monday, Apr 13 and while we still haven’t heard any official reopening date for Beijing schools, the Hong Kong Education Bureau decided this afternoon to postpone the previously announced Mar 16 opening time again to Apr 20, according to the Beijing News. The announcement today from Hong Kong may be a harbinger of things to come closer to home.
In the meantime, Beijing’s parents have cast their votes on when they think schools will reopen.
30 percent of respondents are in the “optimist” camp and believe school will be back in session before the end of March. Meanwhile, 54 percent are in the realist camp and think schools will resume sometime in April.
The remaining are already hard at work building their concrete bunkers and stockpiling canned goods as they see schools resuming some time after May 1.
