Booze News: Re-Up This Weekend With the Best Alcohol Delivery Options Available

As Beijing's second run-in with the coronavirus seemingly abates as quickly as it began, albeit with a whole slew of new travel measures in place, the city's F&B scene has yet again been left a little shaken, but also stirred into action. This latest epidemic had an interesting twist in that the local authorities took specific aim on establishments selling hard liquor, putting the kibosh on cocktails and shots as well as reducing opening hours across the board.

Nevertheless, where there is a will there is a way, and luckily for those of us now happily accustomed to the ways of home indulgence, Beijing's venues continue on their mission to stock our fridges and shelves with some excellent hooch. Below is an updated list of those recently doing the (over-the-table) rum-running biz proud.

Cocktails

Hulu

As if sensing the thirst following a week of tense pandemic related stress, Hulu went ahead and launched a new range of deliverable cocktails. You can either order a mix and match of three (RMB 150) or six (RMB 300) cocktails, or an individual cocktail complete with shaker and cocktails glass (RMB 90). The inaugural range features sakura, colada, and negroni cocktails. To order, add Hulu Delivery at WeChat ID: ilovehuluforever.

Laiba

You may have seen Laiba's pre-made cocktails popping up around town recently as smaller bars opt for their no-fuss but creative drinks rather than go to the trouble of doing it themselves. We reckon they're still best enjoyed at home, and with a range of signature as well as collaboration bottles, there's enough variety to keep you coming back. A mixed six-pack goes for RMB 278, while the entire Bar in a Bottle series costs RMB 1,298. You can find Laiba's mini-program by searching laibapassport on WeChat.

Scandal

A favorite of the Sanlitun cocktail crowd, Scandal released a range of low-calorie, pre-mixed cocktails for RMB 60 a pop to bide them over during the pandemic. The minimum order is four cans, but a 10 percent discount is offered when you buy eight or more cans. To order, follow WeChat ID: ScandalBeijing and then type anything into the official chat to retrieve a QR code to add the service account. Orders must be placed between 10am and 5pm.

Beer

Slow Boat

Slow Boat’s WeChat store is offering six-packs of select bottled beers for around RMB 130, 24-packs from RMB 320 to RMB 628, and even entire kegs. If you're quick, you can even get 20 percent off a 24-pack of their newest Stir Hazy Double IPA for RMB 498. To find the shop, search for their WeChat official account ID: SlowBoatBrewery悠航鲜啤 to follow them and then press 在线外卖 in the bottom right corner of the official chat.

Great Leap Brewing

Great Leap is operating delivery services on the Meituan, Sherpa’s, and Jinshisong delivery apps, where you'll find cans of their flagship brews like Edmond Backhouse Pilsner, Honey Ma Gold, Little General IP, and Silver Needle White Ale for around RMB 15 each. You can also find 24-packs of their tallboy cans on JD for RMB 350-plus.

Jing-A

Also found on Meituan, Sherpa’s, and Jinshisong, the easiest way to order Jing-A is through their Weidian. Currently, you can get a mixed six-pack of bottles of RMB 115, while other packs are discounted to RMB 69-79.

Crafters Brewing Co.

Since the pandemic began, Crafter’s have been going hard with the discounts, doubling down on most 12 packs of tallboy cans with another 12 pack for free. This week is no different, and if you get in quick, they're currently offering a Father's Day special on buy 12 500ml cans of Transatlantic IPA for RMB 310, get 12 500ml cans of Tiny Gansta for free via Taobao. Nothing says "I love you, dad" more than getting him good and sozzled.

Wine

Cheers Wines

Beijing’s favorite affordable wine import brand is still in operation across town, but you can also save precious wine calories and simply order bottles online for kuaidi delivery. Search for their WeChat official account ID: CHEERSWines to follow them and press "门店Shop" for links to their JD, Taobao, and WeChat store.
