April 9-11: Coffee Youth Day Festival
Walking with Coffee, China's top information provider on all things coffee, is holding the Coffee Youth Day Festival this weekend in the Winter Garden at Indigo Mall. Themed around the old Beijing hutongs, the home of Beijing's early specialty coffee scene, the festival boasts some of the city's most popular coffee shops and brands, as well as plenty of food and fun. Apr 10: The Woof and Meow Neighborhood Market
This Saturday, head over to the Tongli Market in Shunyi for a very special collaboration between Lost Puppies of Beijing and Rumble in the Jumble. Raising money for the capital's animals in need, the market will feature over 30 unique vendors, and a wide range of products including handmade crafts, decor, fashion and skincare, and loads of food and treats for both humans and pets. Kids can come and bring their secondhand toys, books, and games to the Kids Flea Market 4 Dogs where all funds raised will go towards rescue dogs. Free. Noon-6pm. Tongli Market, Shunyi

The Hutong branches out from their usual Chinese cultural events for something a little different this Saturday: hosting an African jewelry-making workshop. Apr 10: Outdoor climbing in Fangshan
Venture out to Beijing's suburbs and the picturesque Shidu Scenic Area for an outdoor rock climbing session suitable for all levels, even beginners. Apr 11: Peking opera workshop
