All Partied Out? Save Some Energy for This Year's July 4th Celebrations
While this week's nightlife events have very much been eclipsed — if not outright canceled — by the celebrations of the biggest, baddest party in town, there are some venues here and there that have managed to squeeze in a good ol' fashioned July 4th shindig. Should everything go to plan, these are your best bets for where to party, America-style, for the 245th Independence Day of the United States of America this Sunday.
Independence Day cookout at The Local
Leading the pack is The Local, who is, as tradition denotes, holding a cookout with American food and patriotic-themed drinks galore from 3-10pm. Drinks include the Meiguo-Rita (RMB 60), the Patriotic Pina Colada (RMB 60), and Six Shots of Salute (RMB 120), while food will span the usual hamburgers (veggie and not), hotdogs, and sides, as well as fajita skewers from the grill. Murrica party at Jing-A Sanyuanqiao
Murrica, born from nothing more than a dedicated WeChat group of Beijing-based Yanks, holds their annual Independence Day celebration at the newly opened Jing-A Sanyuanqiao. Taking a page from America's book, this one will be loud, fast, and intense, lasting only between 1-3.30pm on Sunday. However, that 2.5 hours will be packed with all-you-can-drink beer and barbecue as well as beer pong, cornhole, and prizes aplenty. Scan the QR code in the poster above to register.
Bottomless July 4th brunch at Home Plate
Following, a long, dry spell without their regular free-flow booze deal, Home Plate has heeded the call to reignite it this Sunday for their all-you-can-drink brunch. For RMB 150, you'll get four hours of unlimited drinks, 11am-3pm, including frozen jalapeño margarita, sangria, Long Island ice tea, Tsingtao, Boxing Cat Helles Lager, house mixers, soft drinks, and juice. Old-timey rock nine-piece Back Seat Bingo (pictured above) will provide the very raucous backing track to your glut. For more details on how to book, click here.
Free-flow backyard barbecue by AmCham China
Finally, something a little more suited to the whole family. AmCham China pitches up at the East Garden of the Kempinski on Sunday, 4-8pm, for some backyard barbecue action. There'll be food, drinks, kids' activities, a live band, square dancing, and a raffle. Tickets cost RMB 550 for adults and 250 for children, and you can register via this link.
