Jing-A Brings the Big Guns with Their New Wukesong Location
Despite the tumultuous times for restaurants and businesses over the past two years, a few businesses like Jing-A have managed to continue to grow, opening a number of new venues all across different areas of the capital such as Wangjing and Tongzhou.
Now, they’ve expanded again, opening up a new location in Beijing Huaxi Live, aka the venue formerly known as the Wukesong Arena. This is Jing-A’s biggest location to date and their first location in Haidian, which is sure to be music to the ears of foodies and beer lovers living in this western district.
The venue has seen a number of restaurants, shops and other venues flock to it in recent years, such as MAO Livehouse, Pyro Pizza, NBeer and even Ikea.
Currently in its soft opening stage, the front of the venue boasts a semi-enclosed terrace style area dotted with plenty of plants, making a pleasant spot for outdoor dining and imbibing. Venture inside and you’ll be met with a large central dining hall area housing picnic style benches and tables.
Up to the left, is a more luxurious area complete with plush brown booths, a “merch” area, and at the back is a private room that is bound to be great for small functions and parties. The right hand side has more of a bar feel with high tables and a long bar stretching all the way across on the far right side. The walls are adorned with colorful posters displaying a variety of their beers along with their signature license plate signs for the kitchen and bathroom.
Now, of course, the star of the show at any Jing-A location isn’t their decor, but their beers and delicious food. As you’d expect from any Jing-A they have numerous of their signature beers on tap, along with seasonal variations, bottles and a selection of their famous on tap cocktails too. As always, if you’re finding it too hard to decide on just one beer they have tasting flights of four beers for RMB 90, or eight beers for RMB 180.
As for food, they are offering a similar menu to their CBD location which features favorites like their Mussel Pot (RMB 120), Antipasto Plate (RMB 170) and Bangers and Mash (RMB 110). As a Brit, a personal recommendation of mine is their Chicken Tiki Masla Sandwich (RMB 60) a British-Indian fusion dish that never disappoints.
For those of us who don’t live in Haidianm you may be wondering why you’d venture over to this side of town when there are a number of closer Jing-A locations over on the east side of town. Well, housed in Beijing Huaxi Live make it the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a full day or evening out of fun.
Here you can grab brunch, lunch or dinner at Jing-A and then also enjoy one of the areas many activities. From catching a live show at one of the music venues, to enjoying some family fun at indoor amusement area Hi-Fun or perhaps even shopping at Ikea (come on, who doesn’t enjoy a trip to Ikea?).
So what are you waiting for? Go check it out!
