Grab Cinnamon Rolls At These Places in Beijing

Nothing beats a nice cinnamon roll for breakfast or a snack any time of the week. Whether you're searching for a classic cinnamon roll with a coating of cream cheese frosting, or if you want to give other flavors and varieties a try, this is the list for you.

The Bake Shop

The Bake Shop is pretty much one of our favorite bakeries, and their cinnamon roll (RMB 22), is hard to beat. Although Bake Shop's cinnamon bun doesn't come with its signature frosting topping, the golden brioche bread it's made with gives it a light flavor that's fluffy and soft. Pair it with their roasted marshmallow cappuccino and you're in for a nice treat.

CHOC-A-LOT

The star of the show at CHOC-A-LOT is their caramel apple cinnamon roll (RMB 45), which foregoes classic frosting in favor of caramel apple sauce drizzled atop the roll. The light and fluffy rolls remind me of something that I'd see at my favorite brunch spot. Oh, and the brown sugar in the caramel apple sauce works wonders with the cinnamon flavors without being too sweet.

Other than the caramel apple cinnamon roll, CHOC-A-LOT also serves up a variety of options including the RMB 32 chocolate cinnamon roll (RMB 32), honey cinnamon roll (RMB 32), and walnut cinnamon roll (RMB 38).

If you're someone who loves a mouthful bite of the classic, Christmas dessert-style cinnamon roll with plenty of caramel, chopped apples and buttery soft dough, you'll certainly fall in love with CHOC-A-LOT.

M Natural

These picture-perfect cinnamon rolls from M Natural, priced at RMB 28, are made with pecans, wheat, flour, butter, milk, eggs, brown sugar, and cinnamon -- with the pecans making them a bit similar to sticky buns. Even though this one is not as cinnamon-packed as the other rolls, the pecan flavors really go well with the cinnamon, making it a perfect breakfast treat.

Baker&Spice

Baker&Spice’s cinnamon rolls (RMB 15) -- which are more of a knot than a roll -- are baked to a beautiful golden brown color and the top crust also glistens from the sugar layered on top. Definitely grab their RMB 75 all day brunch set that comes with grilled salmon and hummus for a nice treat while you’re there.
