Sanlitun's Courtyard No. 4 Reopens, While Universal Studios and Four Seasons Remain Shut
And just like that, the Courtyard No. 4 complex in Sanlitun has reopened to the public today, Oct 27. This comes after the complex – which houses a number of popular restaurants including Home Plate BBQ, QMex, Panorama and others – was shut yesterday morning so that Covid testing could be administered. Unfortunately, Universal Studios remains shut, and we have received word that the Four Seasons Hotel in Liangmaqiao is also shut.
Sources at Home Plate and QMex told us late last night saying they’d finally been given the okay to reopen after a full day of testing and waiting. Courtyard No. 4 was barricaded yesterday due to an individual infected with Covid having wound up in the parking lot of the complex on the night of Oct 22, according to local media.
Other sources have also told us DollSEE, a new clothing retail store, is the only shop in Courtyard No. 4 still closed as of today.
It also appears that Joy City Chaoyang has also reopened, with a quick search on Dianping showing that waimai for restaurants within the mall is operating as usual.
As for Four Seasons and Universal, these remain shut for the time being (see notice on Universal below). When we reached out to staff at Four Seasons, they informed the Beijinger that the hotel had been asked to remain closed for ten days starting today, with all hotel employees and guests required to undergo quarantine and regular testing in the hotel.
A few people we spoke to who went to Universal recently said they’d been asked to self-isolate at home until Oct 30 or Nov 1 at the latest due to a case having been found at the amusement park.
While we’ll have to wait for word on Universal and the Four Seasons' reopening, it looks like Halloween festivities taking place at venues within Courtyard No. 4 will indeed be happening. A bit of good news ahead of the holiday weekend.
