Beijing's Ditan Park to host record-Breaking “Temple of Earth and Me” Book Fair: The upcoming “Temple of Earth and Me” book fair in Beijing's Ditan Park is set to break records with over 400,000 books showcased from diverse genres, reports the Global Times. The book fair, starting Sep 8, is an 11-day event held at the historical site where the Earth God was worshipped during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The event, spread across 15,000 square meters, will feature 350 booths from 208 exhibitors, each presenting a collection of high-quality books across eight distinct areas. The Foreign Books Area will feature over 5,000 foreign language books including popular series like Harry Potter. Free entry and discounts offered by exhibitors are added attractions to the fair. A donation drive for disaster-stricken areas underscores the fair's commitment to social responsibility.

Youth surge in cybercrime poses a new challenge for Beijing's cybersecurity: The Beijing police's Cybersecurity Department has reported a significant drop in the age of individuals involved in cybercrime, with cases of hacking becoming increasingly prevalent among younger demographics, reports the Global Times. The department has analyzed 113 hacker-related cases resolved since last year, revealing that the process of infiltrating computer systems has become more straightforward, and the suspects are getting younger.

The majority of these cybercrimes aimed at stealing personal data, including identities, phone numbers, addresses, and online purchasing records, with online gaming platforms being the primary targets. The department pledged to intensify its efforts against hacking and advised internet users to regularly update their passwords and security software.

China's 20th National Science Popularization Day unveils new technologies: China is gearing up to host its 20th National Science Popularization Day, with a focus on showcasing key technological advances and stimulating national innovation, reports China Daily. The central events will unfold at Beijing's Shougang Park from Sep 16 to 24.  A special section will spotlight China's recent breakthroughs in big data, artificial intelligence, metaverse, and quantum technology. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage directly with China's major technological advancements in areas such as manned spaceflight, lunar and planetary exploration, deep-sea and deep-earth exploration, and supercomputing.
