Large venue space and nightclub in the basement of Chaoyang Joy City that largely caters to millennial musical tastes, showcasing the best of China's upcoming hip-hop, dance, and left-field producers.

This mid-sized Lidu dance club above Lido's Mandrill bar is slowly and quietly giving the city's bigger-name clubs a run for their money thanks to a no-fuss space, hip-but-not-too-hip staff, and a steady roster of some of the world's most respected DJs.

With flashing lights, electronic music, and crowds of dancers, Onethird fits right in at the Worker's Stadium club strip.

Much like its sister bar in Guolo, bright colors and funky tunes define this disco bar. There is plenty of seating for the early hours, but at night be prepared to make your way into the mirrored hallway behind the curtain that gives this bar its name.

Cheap shots, hip-hop, and glow in the dark ping pong tables – Playhouse is a lively Gongti club that adheres to the fun its name suggests.

Separate rooms and dance floors, multiple stories, a catwalk, and an enormous stage, this mega-club which is owned the dynamic duo behind Sir Teen and the late, bricked Boot, Bottle, and Cigar – Douglas Williams and Quinn Johnson – is built upon visions of a club reminiscent of “those that took New York’s Meatpacking District by storm in the late ’90s.”

The biggest "club for ladies" in Beijing, AMO is quite literally an underground club you could just about live in. Open from 8pm onwards every night, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest, with live DJs and T&P performances. For special events, they have performances with opportunities to get involved with the games on stage and win prizes. Some drinks can be bought on their own, but most prefer some of their combos of beers or hard liquor with snacks. Here, ice cream in vodka could be a thing.
