Jiangnan Snacks

Jiangnan Snacks, on the first floor of COFCO Plaza, sits directly next to the elegant Jiangsu restaurant Huaiyang Dream and belongs to the same group: Huaiyang Fu. In the same vein of those restaurants, the decor delivers similar traditional vibes with a clean, white-tiled mixed with blackboard walls, industrial lights and makeshift shades, light-colored wooden Chinese-style armchairs and tables, bamboo, and a small rock garden in the corner.

Jiangsu Provincial Government Restaurant

The Jiangsu Provincial Government Restaurant serves up some regional classics including 'lion's head,' pork and crab meatballs, soup dumplings, and ‘leek screw,' a fried mix of scallions and river snails, and the ‘smoked bean curd malan head’ both of which take full advantage of Jiangsu’s green offerings.

Rong Xiao Guan

A spinoff from subtly elegant fine dining restaurant Xin Rongji, Rong Xiao Guan embodies the trend of big name restaurants launching cheaper, “popular” brands (see also: Da Dong Duck). Rong Xiao Guan might be a casual restaurant, but they aren’t resting on their laurels when it comes to the quality of the food – the Jiangsu-style dishes sing with sweet and savory flavors.

Nanjing Impressions

The restaurant celebrates the cuisine of Nanjing, offering many duck-based specialties like the duck meat dumplings and the famous saltwater duck. Other must-try dishes are jiangmi kourou, rice with sliced pork belly and the "lion's head" meatball. There is also a snack stall which offers pancakes, noodles and other delicacies.

Feng Sao Zhe Ren

Located in a renovated courtyard with a charming street-side view on Jinbao Jie, BeijingDaze.com recommends this Shanghai and Hangzhou restaurant that specializes in Beggar's Chicken (叫花鸡,jiao hua ji) and makes its own huang jiu (Chinese brandy). English menu is available.
