Beijing's biggest, oldest and – we think – BEST ball is back for its 21st year! Join us for a night of delicious food, delightful drinks, and dancing until dawn as we take you for A Night at the Races!

Get your fascinators and top hats and join us at the Winners' Enclosure for our ten-hour entertainment extravaganza. We'll be celebrating the best of Britain's equestrian heritage, as well as the luxury that comes with a special trip out to the races – think high fashion, gorgeous cocktails, costume jewellery, and much more!

Kicking off the night with a champagne reception and canapes, you'll have plenty of time before dinner to check out our silent auction, where we'll be raising hundreds of thousands for charity with some exclusive prizes. Take a photo in our photobooth, or try one of Beijing's finest craft beers and whiskys before you sit down for dinner.

Our four-course meal prepared by the China World Summit Wing's fantastic chefs will be accompanied by wines, drinks, and stunning musical performances from some of China's best bands and musicians – including our very own choir for the night, provided by the British Schools of Beijing!

After dinner and our mystery competition, join us on Beijing's biggest ball dance floor for a night of dancing. Our bands and DJs will be taking requests all night, playing the tunes you love until the wee hours.

And, for those valiant souls who don't want the party to end, the Great British Survivor's Breakfast from 2-4am is the perfect way to finish your night.

We're delighted to be returning to the China World Summit Wing for the third year in a row. If you want to make your night even more special, we'll be offering a discounted rate on hotel rooms following the ball – all of which include late checkout for our revellers. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes.

At Death Cafe, people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.

Come and share your thoughts, experiences, and questions in a safe space free of judgment or expectations. Let’s break the silence surrounding death and embrace its role in our lives!

What Death Cafe IS:

With no intention of leading participants to any conclusion, product or course of action.

As an open, respectful and confidential space where people can express theirviews safely.

On a not for profit basis.

Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food and dessert.

What Death Cafe is NOT:

Death Cafe is not a bereavement support or grief counselling setting.

Death Cafe doesn't work for people who, for whatever reason, aren't able to discuss death comfortably and openly. There are many projects better set up for this.

Death Cafes aren't an opportunity to give people information about death and dying - regardless of how good or important it is. Rather we create time to discussdeath without expectations.

Death Cafe doesn't work as a method of community engagement, research or consultation. lt shouldn't be used for these purposes.

Families with little ones ages 0-18 months can come to The British School of Beijing (BSB) Shunyi to meet other expat families, enjoy playing with age-appropriate toys, create seasonal crafts, singing and lots more! Drinks and snacks provided.
