Established in 2008, the luxury brand TWG Tea first opened in Raffles Place in Singapore by Taha Bouqdib and Maranda Barnes. Having now expanded to over 20 countries around the world, their 1837 logo, a reference to the year that Singapore became a trading post for teas, spices, and fine epicurean products, has become a recognizable brand.
The menu is breathtaking, and features over 800 different varieties of tea: white, yellow, green, oolong, black, pu'er, rooibos, various tea blends, and rare, limited harvest teas (RMB 70-100/pot). There are also European-style pastries, such as macaroons (RMB 18), scones (RMB 50), madeleines (RMB 50), and rum and vanilla-infused canelé (RMB 50). There are also tea sets, tea-scented candles, teapots, and other tea paraphernalia for sale.
