5 Things to Taste, Smell, Touch, Hear, and See, Nov 23-25
Beijing can be overstimulating place to live, to say the least. Let’s be real: sometimes even our sixth sense (the one that tells you when that stick of chuan'r will make you sick for the next two days) gets a decent workout. With such a wide variety of events, restaurants, and gigs to attend, we suggest bathing each of your five senses in one, if not all, of the nourishing goings-on below.

Hot Toddy at Nina
You can brick their door but you can't stop the flow of hot toddies at Nina. Together with other freshly created winter snacks (baked calzones, carbonara etc.), the Beiluogu Xiang Italian-style haunt has brought out the heavy winter artillery, namely the Hot Toddy. The medicinal and recreational drink has soothed many a barfly over countless cold winters. Nina's take on the chilly weather classic is a blend of cinnamon and white pepper-infused bourbon, lightened with lemon juice and sweetened with organic honey.

Practicing yoga can be daunting at first – besides remembering the sequences, you also need to recall poses, their names in different languages, all the while trying not to tense up. Luckily, Leo Cheung, a Hong Kong-hailing designer and yoga fan, has created a notebook that serves as a guide to your yoga sessions. Before Cheung, a certified yoga teacher, wanted to find a convenient way to help supplement her students' knowledge. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Yogamania notebook was born. It consists of three parts: a mini yoga dictionary and yoga posture cards as well as lined and dotted pages to take notes. The Yogamania notebook is available at Yoga Yard or online (approx. RMB 200).
