The weekend is here! Time for fun, relaxation, and recharging the ol' batteries ahead of *gulp* Monday morning's alarm clock. Luckily enough, there’s plenty of fun stuff to keep you occupied over the weekend that doesn't necessarily involve getting blitzed. Our weekend roundup offers you some of the best.

Dec 28: Stand-Up Comedy From Eric Alexander

This Saturday at Chao Hotel, Comedy Club China hosts Canadian comic Eric Alexander. As well as winning the 2019 Bangkok International Comedy Competition, Alexander was also a finalist in the Shanghai International Comedy Competition and won this year's Shanghai Roast Battle. Dec 28: Mobius Video Hall

The Mobius Video Hall project gathers 25 videos, ranging from 20 seconds to 20 minutes, from various artists with disparate backgrounds and styles. Like a Mobius strip, the films have been spliced together to create a 131-minute movie that will then be shown on repeat at Amazing Words Bookstore in Hepingli, an ode to China's old public video houses. The films will be screened with English and Chinese subtitles. RMB 38. 9.30am-9pm. Amazing Words

Dec 28-29: Miao Market at Longfusi

Woodstock of Eating market takes over the newly renovated Longfusi courtyard this weekend, with two-days of delicious food from local vendors, craft items from artisans, art and accessories, and much more. Dec 29: Trial Tango Dance Class

Join tango teachers Allen Ma and Simona Wu at Ala House for an afternoon of sultry dancing. The entrance fee includes a 90-minute tango lesson with demonstrations from these two Asian champion tango dancers. RMB 50. 3-4.40pm. Ala House

Until Jan 5: Anish Kapoor at CAFA Art Museum

There's only one week left to be immersed in the wonderful world of internationally renowned Indian artist Anish Kapoor. While Kapoor's works are rooted in ancient Indian philosophy, combining old and new, East and the West, they are thoroughly modern in their approach, creating a visually uncertain world by distorting everyday objects and shapes. RMB 120.
