Another year, another round of goodbyes. Beijing's ruthlessly competitive food and beverage business has been through another year of change, and while the hellos have been numerous, we stop for a moment on New Year's Eve to say goodbye to 10 of the venues we'll miss in 2014 ... that is if they don't make a triumphant return!

Others we'll miss: the original SALT (now under new management); pioneering chuar-and-belly-dancing masters Afunti; the original Modo (though it lives on as Modo Urban Deli); Sanlitun Soho's Moment Cafe; Cafe Zarah (though we hear -- and hope -- they'll be reopening soon).
