Help Out: Children Need New Housing

Important news: New Life Center (NLC) is trying to get new facilities for their kids. The program rescues displaced children in Beijing and gives them opportunities through education. They need to raise RMB 80,000 by December 21.

NLC had spent weeks preparing for a fundraiser which was suddenly cancelled by one of the organizers. Now, at a time of year when charities are competing fiercely for the public's attention, NLC is asking for help from the community.

"Our kids are living in three village houses in Shunyi and it is very difficult to manage them. We need to get them under one roof," says founder Ginny Bai. "The rent keeps going up and up, unreasonably." NLC has found new suitable facilities but needs to raise the money in the next two weeks. The center is currently caring for 26 children.
