Spice Up Your Lunch Hour at Transit (Then Cool Down With a Gelato at Vai Milano)
Sichuan favorite Transit has just launched a set lunch menu. RMB 88 gets you a plate of cold appetizers (including their delicious house-made Sichuan pickles), a main of steamed pork ribs with glutinous rice, and a side dish of Sichuan cold noodles. Add RMB 20 for a dessert and a soft drink. The peaceful space would work as well for a business lunch as it would for a catch up with friends.
If the idea of all that spice is too much for you, cool your taste buds down with artisan gelateria Vai Milano’s new summer menu. The new products, including a fresh fruit sundae (RMB 51) and a lemon granita (RMB 38), are mostly focused on yogurt sorbet and fresh fruit.
Over in Central Park, modern Mediterranean restaurant The Woods has a revamped summer menu. I stopped by for lunch the other day and particularly enjoyed a dish of herb-crusted lamb, cooked to a perfect medium rare. More on the new menu in a later blog.
Modo Urban Deli held their first pop-up picnic in collaboration with Dienastie, Uber and Jing A at a secret location last Sunday. The picnic was limited to a lucky group of 20 people, but if you missed out this time, don't despair – they will be holding another picnic at yet another secret location on July 13. Simply pay RMB 258 (with the option to add booze) and get a picnic for two from Modo, transport to the location from Uber and vouchers for money off sunglasses by Dienastie.
