Is Mariah Carey Set to Add Beijing to Her China Tour?
Well, the answer would appear to be: yes. We thought it a tad strange when it was first announced that the US superstar was heading to China in October for a single show in Chongqing. But according to the tour page on her official website, and a Facebook post from local ticket traders Damai.cn late last week, she has now added shows in Shanghai and Beijing to the itinerary.
The New York-based diva looks set to perform in Beijiing at the Workers' Stadium on October 10.
Curiously, Damai aren't selling tickets for that show currently despite Carey's own website suggesting the tickets would be on general sale on August 16. It's likely just a case of the requisite stamps of approval waiting to come through though, and tickets for the Shanghai date are already on sale.
The 44-year-old singer-songwriter was as big as they came during the '90s following the release of huge-selling records Daydream and Butterfly, but she's struggled to replicate that success of late.
There are no ticketing details just yet, but the cheapest tickets for the Shanghai show are RMB 280 going up to amounts nobody in their right mind would pay to see her.
More details when we get them.
