the Beijinger Beer Festival: 24 Hours to Go!

If you haven’t already heard everything you need to know about the Beijinger Beer Festival at Villa Castanea this Saturday (July 23), the chances are you don’t look at our website very much. All you need to know is that with 34 different types of beer available to sample, including brews from Belgium, Germany, France, the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Spain and more, this is an unmissable event for beer drinkers and should be a great day out for all. For more news and links to all the details, read on.

If you’ve already got your ticket, all you need to know is that buses leave from both Paddy O’Shea’s and The Irish Volunteer at 11am, 1pm and 3pm to whisk you away to Villa Castanea, up by the Fragrant Hills. Return buses are provided later in the day. If you're taking the subway, shuttle buses to the venue run all day from Bagou station on Line 10.

If you don’t have a ticket by now, you can still pick one up on Saturday from either Paddy O'Shea's or The Irish Volunteer before hopping on the buses leaving from those venues. (You will not be able to buy a ticket anywhere else at this stage.) Tickets will cost RMB 100, which includes five free beer samples, return transport and other freebies.

For all the details on the beers available at the event, check out our posts here, here, here and here.

And finally, to get a glimpse into the souls of the DJs and bands we’ll have playing on the day, including the Randy Abel Stable, Patrick Yu, Usami and Bitesize Buddha, we asked them about their first encounters with beer, how they know when to stop and for their secret hangover cures. Check out our ale-sodden interviews here and here.

Sounds good, right? Good, you're in. Get your tickets and we’ll see you there.
