90 Minutes of 48 Hour Films
What do you get with a teacher, a pill, and the question "What am I supposed to do?" The premise of a short film put together in 48 hours. Intrigued? Check it out as the best entries of Beijing’s 48 Hour Film Project are screened tonight at Yugong Yishan, along with the announcement of the winner.
The 48 Hour Film Project began in 2001 in Washington DC and first showed up in Beijing in 2009. For the competition, filmmakers are given a character, a prop and a line and 48 hours in which to construct a film around the three given elements.
The screening tonight will include the top ten films and the announcement of the winner that will take their film to Washington DC to compete in the final international completion. There will also be time to ask the filmmakers questions about their whirlwind projects.
