When I moved to this city a few years ago I was happy that there was a place were you could buy european food. I went there bought some meat and it was bad; meaning bad cuts, subpar quality and almost european prices. So I forgot about the place. As the "supermarket" section is not worthwile going there anyway if you have a Jenny Lou or April Gourmet around the corner. Last week I gave the meat section another try, and again it was bad. We paid almost 130 kuai for two pieces of meat the dared to call steak. It was badly cut, completely wet and way to fresh. ( I am not expecting dry aged meat in Beijing...but not a a piece of cow which tasted as if it was alive 30 minutes before I bought it) What upsets me is that this people and many others offering so called european or western stuff get a way with the rubbish they sell. And of course we are stupid enough to buy it. But getting back to the meat. I can not understand that they dare to sell this kind of ...sorry to say crap...of course I could go back and complain, but it will not change anything. Its sad that most people in the food industry in this city only care about their profits (yes making money is fine with me) but it seems that almost no one is trying to deliver good product, its all about cutting edges, squeezing things until you get the last drip out of it. Bottom line dont waste your money at places like this.
