Went here on Friday after hearing good things about it, for an anniversary dinner with my wife. The setting is very nice, overlooking the courtyard in Nali building (we were sitting outside); the service was prompt and courteous; the food was very tasty indeed - I had the seared tuna starter and lamb shank main, while my wife (with a sweet tooth) went for the steak main and chocolate souffle, with a fresh orange juice and a bottle of Tempranillo for drinks.
The wine, at 350 a bottle, wasn't great - OK, I know Beijing prices, but when you can get better wine in Jenny Lou's for RMB50, you resent it somewhat. It seemed a bit rough and not fully matured. The portions, dare I say, were less substantial than ought to be the case. When you're paying fairly stiff prices, you don't want to come away feeling unsatisfied, which is what I did. All the same, I can see why this place is so popular, it really does do good food, and deliver it in a fine manner.
