I agree with the previous review that the prices are rather high.
But the wings are very tasty, and on Wednesday you allowed to purchase 10 wings per person at 2.99 each, which is not a bad deal. Although, frankly, they are probably still making money on the wings, so I think it is just annoying to the customer to arbitrarily limit the number of wings one can eat.
Indeed, this place has mastered the "art" of stupidly annoying their customers.
Sure, in the West, people are used to "tipping" their waiter for "good service." And restaurants are used to underpaying their waiters because of this.
This is CHINA, but Hooters in Beijing still likes underpaying their waiters, so they actually FORCE people to tip!
So, at the end of your lovely meal, get ready for a extra, unwanted surprise on your already too expensive bill. Just perfect for making people leave Hooters feeling angry, cheated and vowing never to return.
But at least THAT extra charge is listed on the menu (in small print), and some customers might still accept it. So Hooters has another little trick to make sure that EVERYONE leaves feeling cheated:
They also force you to pay the 10% service charge on items which they advertise as "FREE!"
So, for example, the Happy Hour "Buy 1, get 1 free" promotion is false: Buy 1, pay 10% extra on it, then get another beer for 10% more. Just 10%--what's the big deal? Yeah, exactly!
Why make your customers feel angry and cheated for a lousy 10% extra on a beer which you said was "FREE"?
What I cannot understand (and I'd love someone to explain this to me, please!) is why Hooters cannot simply pay their waiters whatever they are worth. And then charge their customers whatever they feel they need to, clearly listing the prices on their menus???
And if they cannot afford to offer wings for 2.99, or 2 for 1 beers, then just don't offer them!
Don't pretend to offer something, but then find some clever way to claw it back from the customer later.
If Hooters cannot simply pay a fair salary, charge a fair price, and make it clear to their customers, then they deserve to fail.
Which is a pity, because their wings are actually pretty good.
