Kipp's Picks: Visionist, Dim Sum Disco, Santo Chino, Larry Levan Tribute, and Youdai

We are pleased to inform you that despite Halloween being over and done with (for another year at least), there are still some mind-blowing opportunities to dance and drink your nights away with some amazing music this weekend. From grime to disco, there will be a little primal joy for everyone to get down.

Nov 6: Visionist
Over the last five years, this London based artist has carved out a distinct style of dirty, future influenced electronic music that has garnered him massive amounts of acclaim in the UK and abroad. After being locked away in his secretive music studio for months, he finally finished off his debut album Safe for the world-renowned PAN label, last month and is ready to blast you with these emotionally raw and energetic new tracks. Check them out here. RMB 60. 10pm. Dada

Nov 6: Dim Sum Disco 4th Year Anniversary
This Friday, the Dim Sum boys celebrate another year on planet disco with a spectacular selection of funky, four-to-floor disco burners to ignite your weekend. To amp up this year's celebration they’ve also invited the acclaimed DJ and producer Borrowed Identity, an artist whose music is deep and awash with genuine musicality and soul. Come join the fun with Boflex, Crystal Bones, and this spectacular special guest as they celebrate four years of disco mania. RMB 50. 10pm. The Bar at Migas

Nov 7: The Same As It Ever Was with DJ Santo Chino
DJ Santo Chino brings the heat with his deep collection of disco and an extreme endurance behind the decks. He'll no doubt have you spinning to some of the rarest, and funkiest rhythms of the 70s and 80s till the sun comes up. We get excited whenever this vinyl junky makes the trip up from Shanghai. Free. 10pm-late. Dada

Nov 7: Welcome to Paradise - A Larry Levan Tribute
Get ready for this little slice of paradise as some of Beijing’s greatest discoteers attempt to conjure up the energies and stylings of Larry Levan. The man and the legend, who not only pioneered club culture in the 80s, but also helped pave the way for what we would come to know as dance music today. He was known for his eclectic blends of everything and anything danceable. RMB 30. 10pm. The Bar at Migas

Nov 7: The Black Sheep with Youdai
Youdai was one of the first DJs in China. Before he even knew what a DJ was, he started bringing all sorts of cassettes to the party and jamming them through crappy speakers. His early aspirations eventually led him to bring a variety of Western tracks to FM radio stations around China, influencing a generation. He will be joined by some of the most valuable resident Djs in the city for a party to be remembered. RMB 50. 10pm. Lantern
