I can't believe I never added my review of this place until now, since it's still my favorite place for dumplings. Once you get beyond the novelty of dumplings that come in green, red and purple skins (flavoured with different vegetables) you find that they also have loads of fillings that you'll never have tried or even thought of before. My favorite is the one with peanuts and bacon (la rou).
The dumplings are great, but there's an affiliated Sichuan restaurant next door - you can sit in either and order from both menus. The Sichuan restaurant is more "decorated," the dumplings place is more tables, chairs and ready-to-go simple. Order some dumplings then something from the Sichuan menu - I have no shame in saying the gong bao ji ding here was among the best I've had in Beijing.
Very good value too - you can eat very well for less than RMB 40 per head easily, which isn't bad going at all these days.
